Powell was born on 23 July 1993 in Kingston, Jamaica. He made his first-class debut for Jamaica in the 2015–16 Regional Four Day Competition and continued to shine in the Regional Super50 with scores of 71 and an unbeaten 63.
Powell’s breakthrough came in the 2016–17 Regional Super50 semi-final, where he smashed 95 off 45 balls and took 5 wickets for 36 runs against Trinidad and Tobago, earning another Man of the Match award. International Cricket Career
ODI Career
Rovman Powell made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in November 2016 and scored a quick 44 runs from 29 balls. His biggest ODI moment came in 2018 when he scored his first century against Ireland, helping West Indies qualify for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. However, he was not included in the final World Cup squad.
T20I Career and Captaincy

Debut in CPL
Powell joined the Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in 2016. Known for his powerful batting, he quickly became one of the league’s most dangerous players. After being selected in the 2017 CPL draft, he grew into a key member of the team and was named captain in 2020 due to his strong performances and leadership skills.
CPL 2022 Title Win
