Rivaldo Clarke is becoming a very promising young player in West Indies cricket. He is a wicketkeeper and batsman from Barbados, good at keeping wickets, and plays useful innings in the middle order. Moreover, he comes from a family with a strong cricket background. He continues to impress selectors and fans with his performances both behind the stumps and with the bat.
Early Life & Background
He was born on 29 December 2002 in Barbados. Clarke grew up on the island and loved cricket from a very young age. He comes from a true cricketing family. His cousins include Ashley Nurse, a former West Indies all-rounder. He is also related to Ryan Nurse and Vonrick Nurse, who played for Barbados and West Indies youth teams.
When he was a teenager, he was coached by Collis King, a famous West Indies World Cup hero. This early coaching helped improve his skills and thinking in the game. Because of this strong start, Clarke quickly became known in local cricket. He was selected for the West Indies Under-19 team and played in every match of the 2022 Under-19 World Cup.
Domestic Cricket Career
Rivaldo Clarke played his first first-class match for the West Indies Academy in February 2024. Since then, he has slowly built a strong name as a reliable wicketkeeper-batter. He also started playing List A cricket for the same team. Over time, he played for different domestic teams like Guyana Rainforest Rangers and other West Indies Academy sides. He also played franchise cricket for Nuwara Eliya Kings. His good performances in training camps helped him grow as a player. For example, in one Cricket West Indies High Performance Camp, he scored the most runs and hit two centuries.

International Cricket Career
Clarke has not played for the senior West Indies team yet. However, his Under-19 experience gave him a strong base. He played in the 2022 Under-19 World Cup and gained good experience against international teams. In 2025, he performed well for the West Indies Academy against Sri Lanka Emerging teams. He scored two half-centuries in a 50-over series and won the Player of the Series award.

Rivaldo Clarke CPL Career
Clarke started his Caribbean Premier League (CPL) career with steady performances. He adjusted well to the fast and competitive T20 format. His skills as both a wicketkeeper and batter made him an important player for his teams.
Debut in CPL
Clarke made his CPL debut for Saint Lucia Kings in September 2022. This was the beginning of his CPL journey. At first, he played only a few matches, but the experience helped him improve. Later, he joined the Barbados Royals, where he continued to grow as a player.
CPL 2025 Performances
