Early Life & Background

De Kock was born on 17 December 1992 in Johannesburg. He went to King Edward VII School. His coaches quickly saw that he was very talented. He also played for a club called Old Eds. Soon, he started playing for South Africa’s under-19 team.

In the 2012 ICC Under-19 World Cup, he played very well. He scored 95 runs against Bangladesh and 126 runs against Namibia. In total, he made 284 runs in the tournament. He also performed well as a wicketkeeper. De Kock made his first-class debut for Gauteng when he was only 16 years old in the 2009–10 season.

Domestic Cricket Career

He started his domestic career with Gauteng from 2009 to 2011. After that, he joined the Highveld Lions and played very well in the 2012–13 season. International Cricket Career

Quinton de Kock started his career in 2012 with a T20 match against the New Zealand national cricket team, scoring 28 not out while replacing AB de Villiers as wicketkeeper.

He made his ODI debut in 2013 and quickly impressed, scoring five centuries in his first 20 matches. Moreover, he played his first Test in 2014 against the Australia national cricket team and later captained South Africa. He retired from Tests in 2021 but continued white-ball cricket.
